Best way to connect to this washing machine drain?
Author: ericsarratt (NC)

The end with tape (to the left of the arrow) was the old drain for a washing machine. The portion of the elbow to the left of the arrow will be removed. All the grey pipe will be behind drywall.

I need to angle this pipe upward near the arrow and connect it to a washing machine box similar to the one below.

Any suggestions with how to do this? Fernco fitting over the two couplings at the arrow?

The copper pipe and water filter you see will not be behind drywall.

you will need to install a p trap.
you may be able to use a hub saver tool but better option is to just rebuild starting with the sanitary tee.

i would try a fitting saver first.
cut between the two hubs and try the special tool to ream the glued in piece of pipe out so you can glue in a new piece and trap.
if you mess it up then just replace the double san tee.
