Weird pipe leaking water

This is the pipe that is leaking water. It only leaked once and it is behind the regular kitchen sink piping on the left side. I can't seem to find a picture of it online that would tell me what it is or why it should be leaking. I turned on the water a couple times since and nothing has happened. I also heard a weird sound coming from the sink when it started leaking. I was hoping someone could help me figure out what caused it. Thanks

Author: bernabeu (SC) You have a rubber 'expansion' plug in a clean-out pipe. Said plug is NOT installed 'all the way'. Loosen the wing nut (counterclockwise), push the plug into the pipe so it is 'flush', tighten the wing nut. The plug 'should' expand making a tight seal.
