Author: tgowen (IN) I have a water line that goes from the well to the house. I have a pole barn that is between the well and house. Can I get a water line from the well to the pole barn without installing a pump? Edited 1 times.

Author: steve (CA) No. The pressure starts at the pump. You need to tee into the house side of the pump.

Depends on where the pump is...in our well the pump actually sits inside the well, so the line going to the house is pressurized. However, the pressure switch is in the basement where the water line enters the house.

If your set up is similar, then if you tee into the water line between the well and the house, you'll have water in the pole barn. Be sure there's no check valve between the pressure switch and pump.

If your pump is in the house, then you'll either have to tie into the water line after the pump, or install a separate pump in the pole barn.
