Low water flow and pressure in tub and shower
Author: Dan Joldy (MI)

Low hot and cold flow from single Delta valve. I replaced cartridge, seals, springs and no difference. Shower head cleaned by soaking in CLR.

We have very good flow in other parts of the house, by a factor of 3 or 4.

Is it possible hot and cold lines just before the valve are plugged with calcium or magnesium? If so, what is process for removing or dissolving it? I've seen DIY process for descaling DRAIN lines but not SUPPLY lines.

Our pipes are copper, probably 50 years old, and we have well water.

Is the valve pressure balanced? If yes, the balancer spool might be stuck.

I have nearly no water pressure in my bathtub and shower. When i take the spout andvalve off it flows free. No problem. When i put it back together it barely trickles. What is wrong?
