 Moen shower/tub valve installation
Author: thekid43 (FL)

I am installing a Moen Hensley shower/tub valve, but I do not need the tub connection as it will be a shower only. However, I want to run the shower line, down under the floor and feed the shower head on the other end of the shower. Can't go over top. So my question is Can I use a stop cap on the shower outlet of the valve and connect my shower line to what is supposed to be just the tub filler. There is a mechanical stopper/diverter in the tub faucet.
Thanks in advance.

you would be better served buying the proper (one outlet) valve

you can just tie the 2 outlets into a single tee and use the outlet of the tee to feed the spout.

just checked the actual installation manual

it is a spout diverter type

therefore

simply plug the shower outlet of the valve, use the (downward facing) tub outlet of the valve and you are good to go
