Run a drain pipe around a corner
Author: amacca (KS)

We are remodeling our bathroom, and changing from a double sink configuration on the long wall to a single sink on the short wall. I was thinking to run the drain around the corner as it seems to be the simplest solution. One person suggested that if you turn a corner 90 degrees to drop off first and then turn. If so, I figured to use slow turn 90's.

I'm wondering what the experts here propose.

Thanks in advance!

I would rework the plumbing under the floor and come up vertically in the stud bay center to new sink.
If the plumbing is accessible.

simple job.. just cut out the "Y" and the san tee. replace with a single 2 x 1 1/2 inch san tee with the branch looking into the corner..
notch the inside corner to allow for a plain old 90. drill the other 2 x 4's so you can slip in short lengths of pipe. keep the exit point for the new drain approx 19 inches off the finish floor.
i wouldn't worry about using a long sweep 90 in the corner as you are only installing a single vanity sink.

Thanks. Maybe I was overthinking it.
