I have the banded coupling and I have un-banded coupling.

The banded has a hub and is shorter. These always seen too short and don’t have enough “grab”

I need a LONGER no hub coupling that is banded.

Is there such a thing? It seems the big box stores either carry the short banded or long un-banded

if your soldering skill are adequate, you can solder an adapter onto the copper.

you cannot just use any 2" no hub coupling, banded or non-banded.

you need a special transition coupling that accounts for the difference of the copper and PVC OD differences. The one Tom130 (IL) linked is the one you want.

Sum, yeah I realized that once I hooked it in. Thank you. I had a brain moment and thought pvc to copper were same.

Is it just me or do those banded couplings never seem to have enough “throat” or “grab”?

I guess with the dissimilar pipe sizes there is no way to use any no hub coupling

Then just join with a male pvc fitting then glue?

"Fernco" makes them under their Proflex name, part number 3001-22. The one shown by bernabeu is made by Mission Rubber Products, #CK22.

I just grabbed a 301-22 from the store. I was under the impression the coupling bernabeu posted didn’t have the stop in the middle? Yes?

I also grabbed a 2 inch copper male adapter.

There is a stop in the middle on the Fernco/Proflex or the Mission version.

If you want a metal adapter to solder to your copper make sure it's a drain fitting. A female is better or else you will be crank metal threads into plastic female and that can crack the female if over-torqued.
