Proper (outdoor) valve type for outdoor kitchen supply
Author: Rickhoff (TX)

On to the next phase of the Great Texas Freeze, got the house up an running, minus the spigots, ugh ! ... outdoor faucet supply... do I want a ball valve with a bleeder or a stop and waste valve and where is the desired placement as I have some flexibility there... thx

...btw the proposed setup attached was the outdoor kitchen installers program ... the left hand side of the setup with the anti-siphon was for a manual pool filler, the right hand side with my new valve is for the outdoor kitchen faucet supply

IF that red handled valve is the supply side, your anti-siphon valve is backwards

nope, the red valve is the new valve for the OK supply. notice the stub-out from the brick, thats the water supply ... goes into the T I am holding up to the anti-siphon for pool fill and down to the new valve(red) for the OK.

STILL backwards

look at the flow arrows on the antisiphon valve - they point in the direction of water flow

soooo, the end of the valve OPPOSITE the handle (open to atmosphere in your pic, is the water INLET to the a/s valve

Flow ALWAYS goes from the valve (with a handle) to the atmospheric vent. The "kitchen" should NOT be on the same side as the pool filler. And, if the sink and pool have their own valves, after the BFP, then it is the WRONG BFP for that application.

bernabeu, hj,

Just getting back to it ... I totally get what you guys are saying, my bad ! After dis-assembling the system and removing the failed parts, I hastily put humpty back together for the purposes of posting the pic.

Yes, the brass connect pipe should thread into the other side of the anti-siphon !

Now to the real question, do I even need an anti-siphon in this application ?!?

Thx
