 Toilet issues!!!!!
Author: Stevenjamesfox (FL)

I have a leak under one toilet in my house. Probably the wax ring. My other toilet now will not flush. I tried plunging it and it seems to have been forced up into the other bathroom. Is this true? Can a wax ring affect both toilets from flushing? Please help!!

Sjf, to explain, a blockage in the sewer line (e.g. roots in the lateral) causes water to back up. For the leaking toilet, the was ring likely was not sealed to the flange or bottom of toilet, so when water backs up that far it can easily leak (water from flush will flow past without leaking even if was ring missing). For the other toiloet, it appears the seal is holding so water backs up into the bowl until it either overflows or the leak at the other toilet drains the water. You need to clean out the sewer line.
