How to remove Rapid Fit toe drain stopper??
Author: tlee33 (CA)

Hi, I have been having the hardest time removing my Rapid Fit top stopper in my bathtub. Everywhere I've read, it says that I should be able to turn it counterclockwise to remove it but it just won't seem to budge. I even used a wrench, and it ended up pushing in the chrome edges of the stopper. I even tried pulling up on the stopper and it actually pulled up about 1/2" inch, but I still can't turn it. Any help?

Thanks!

How about a picture. Some have a "knob" that has to be unscrewed to access the stud.

I don't see any "knobs" or anything. I was looking for a possible hex nut or something, but it looks perfectly smooth all around.

The stopper must be partially closed then turn counterclockwise, or cut it out with a and replace with a tripwaste, toe touch and lift and turn models are junk

Yes, I hate these toe touch drains. I have 3 of them and none of them hold their seals. I tried depressing the drain and the darn thing still won't turn. I'm not sure what's wrong with this thing.
