I need to test a 3" Studor Maxi Vents to make sure it is working correctly.
Studor has been unhelpful. They don't have tech support at the present time (after multiple contacts).
I need to make sure the Maxi Vent (just a larger version of their smaller 1-way vent) is working correctly.
Any ideas? Thank you for your help.

ANY and ALL air admittance valve(s) are one way only.
else they would permit sewer gas to exit as well as allowing air to enter
you need simply to 'rig up' a mount so you can blow and/or 'suck' to see if a particular vent works
IMO: NONE of them work 'perfectly'

I wonder if you can attach it to the end of a hose of a shop vac, seal with duct tape. In the suction mode it should allow air to exhaust from the shop vac freely, in the blow mode it should block air. Will that be a reasonable test?

In the "blow mode" it had better "block air" if it is working

hj, yes I mistyped. I meant to say block air in the blow mode.
the only thing is I am not sure if the OP's AAV is detachable to test this way, if it's already cemented to a fitting then there is no way to test this way.

Because they are prone to failure, most attach with a threaded connection.
