 rapidfit toe touch tub drain
Author: billk (HI)

I think I have an older model rapid fit toe touch tub drain that I want to remove. I can't unscrew the cap or stem but I can pull the cap up about an inch past its normal open position - it leans slightly from vertical when I do this. The cap is made of plastic as is the shaft so I don't want to use too much force and break it. On the cap is written Rapid-Fit with "Close" & "Open" on either side of the center as if you would press on one side to close it and the opposite to open. Thanks in advance.

The stopper has to almost closed in order to unscrew, they fail often your better off replacing the entire waste and overflow with a gerber tripwaste, or if the threads on stopper are plastic just break the stopper off and tap or drill the threaded piece out and install new stopper
