 Clogged toilet
Author: dave66 (TX)

I am a plumber who does new construction. I have a neighbor who has back to back toilets. When she flushes toilet the water will come up to the rim and not go down also a small amount of water comes into the other toilet. We bought a 6 foot closet auger and snaked it. After using a wet vac to suck the water out I then poured it back in and it still did not drain. I cleaned the little port holes under the rim after sucking water out again and tried to flush again with no success. There is a clean out outside with a small amount of water sitting in it but not totally clogged up. Is it possible that both toilet are shot or should I snake that clean out backwards?

Excellent advice bsipps but be careful not to break the bowl with the Auger. Go easy and slow it you feel a nothing then insert the auger in again and slowly turn counter clockwise. You are now trying to by pass the clog. Take your time and eventually you will succeed. But if not then you must remove the toilet that you think has the clog inside and snake inside the toilet from the bottom. Good luck

After snaking outdoor sewer line backwards several times I was able to remove a boatload of wet wipes that piled up in cast iron pipe.
Thanks for the advice!
