Hi,
My new bathroom sink faucet has a metal escutcheon and I was wondering if I should use plumber’s putty around the inside edges?
Thank you.

yes - pull it out and use a good bead/string of putty around the hole, push the escutcheon back 'squishing' the putty into place - the escutcheon need not be 'filled'
generic for any escutcheon
but, use stain free putty for granite counters

If it is a vanity with a marble or granite top use stain_free putty or clear silicone under escutcheon

IF it is a faucet that uses a single hole, there is usually a rubber gasket to seal the metal escutcheon.

Thank you. Oddly they didn’t supply a rubber gasket or anything else to put underneath it.
