 Plumbing for porcelain laundry sink
Author: spider4re (PA)

I have an old porcelain double utility sink that is leaking at the yoke (lead). Had a plumber come out and said he couldn’t replace the drains because they are 11/2” and the length needs to be 3”. No plumbing house has a replacement for this. My plumber told me to research this:

Strainer for a laundry tub
11/2" pipe
We need a length of 23/4"
Maybe 25/8"

Can anyone help answer this? We don’t want to get rid of it because it is a beautiful antique.

I am not sure what you are referring to, but if it is what I think you are, then you are probably out of luck, because it was specific to that sink and manufacturer.

I feel like if you look for a more professional plumber he might be able to help you out. I'm not sure, but it's what I've learned from my experience.
