Brasscraft makes two types of stop valves ... which is better?
Author: szhosain (CA)

One has a brass stem inside: [www.brasscraft.com] with a brass ball.

and the other seems to be built inside with non-brass parts: [www.brasscraft.com]

Any thoughts on which is better? I want to replace hot and cold water valves going to faucets.

Thanks!

Z

brass stem with ball inside = 1/4 turn ball valve = first class valve

plastic stem with washer inside = multi turn compression valve = second choice

Most excellent!

I think I will use up the few second types I already have on toilet plumbing (cold water inlets), and get the brass stem ones for the sink faucets that see hot and cold water.

Thanks for the advice for sure.
