 moehn shower little pressure
Author: twistedcherokee (CO)

Started out over night the shower had very little pressure. Pulled the cartridge out & turned the water on & had a lot of pressure. Pulled the shower head & the faucet off & flushed the lines, did not see anything in the old cartridge. The house is 5 yrs old, the valve in the wall is clean. Put a new Moehn cartridge in & it is the same way, very little pressure. What is next? Take the new valve & get another one? I tore the old one apart & found nothing in it. It is a very simple design. Unless there is something that could have shifted internally, I am not seeing it. Please & thank you.

when you say the cartridge was removed and water turned on with plenty of pressure, was there both hot and cold pressure?

that I could not say, but it was hitting the wall at the other end of the bathtub. I did not leave it on to see if there was any hot. The toilet & the sink work great, just the shower that has a little stream no matter where you put the handle.

Remove the showerhead and check for debris

I did that, there is none. I also turned the water back on while the cartridge was out & water spouted across the tub, but no debris
came out.

If with the cartridge removed you have no or little flow something is obstructing the flow before the valve cut the pipes going to the valve install ball valves if there are none and see if you have pressure from the ball valves

Had great flow with the cartridge removed. Just a trickle with the old & the new one in.

I swapped out the cartridge with the one in the master bath to the guest bath, it works. Put the new one in the master& it works. Not sure why the new one would not work in the guest bath. But since they are working, it's time to put everything back together.

Thanks for the help everyone.
