 Tub draining weird
Author: woody05 (CO)

My tub has been doing this thing where it doesn't drain for a minute or two when first starting the shower and then it drains super fast. What could be the cause of this and how can I fix it?

IF this is a recent installation, the first thing that comes to mind is that it is double trapped, and if so there is NO easy correction for it.

Couple questions

Does this happen everytime anyone showers

What level of the house is the shower on

Is it a tub/shower combo

How long has this issue been happening

Happens most times but not every time

It's on the main floor of a ranch- there is a basement

It is a tub / shower combo

Started a year or so ago

Kind of an odd issue not sure if its venting or drainage could be a partial clog maybe hair

Try filling the tuna a quarter full of water then drain it and see if you hear gurgling in any of the other fixtures like the toilet or kitchen sink
