I have a downstairs shower and the valve in the bar needed changing , as the bar looked a bit grubby i decided to change the lot . I turned off the water at the mains , changed the barrel, turned the water back on and nothing.. getting water everywhere else bar my shower. Thinking it may have been a dodgy wave I took it off and turned the water back on , but still no water coming from the pipes with nothing attached. Any clue what I've done wrong ?

Well its not the bar/ barrel valve as I can take it off all together so I just have the hot and cold pipes sticking out of the wall . Turn the water on,and not a drop of water coming out ??? But water still comes out of the sink and toilet .
