 Dead mouse found in Toilet tank

I have heard of mouse that have been found in Toilet bowl, but I found one on Toilet reservoir tank
Most plumbers say its impossible the mouse got there through toilet plumbing , but how did it get there ?

If the lid was on the tank, then someone had to put it there.

I've done a lot of work for customers who have rodents getting into the house by gaps in vents, pipes, crawl spaces, attics, etc.

My favorite were rats that got in and chewed the bathroom drain pipe so every time they used the shower or faucet, water got to adjoining flooring and saturated everything. It caused $3,200 in damage.

That said, <mice> only need a 1/4"-1/2" holes to get through anything. If you didn't have the toilet lid right, I can see it crawling in. But to be sure, check alibi's for all your house guests. smiling smiley

I've seen some tanks with recessed rim pockets.

Yes that is what the most probable theory I heard, the mouse , entered through pockets in rear of tank lid

A mouse can't climb a vertical porcelain surface to that hole. I think somebodies' messing with you.
