I tightened my garden hose too tight on the spigot and when I tried to take the garden hose off, the male/male part came off with the hose and I cannot get them separated. Are they mating ha ha?
I hope the photos come through and you can help. The part that screws into the spigot has a much finer thread.

you might want to destroy the hose by cutting a slice thru the hose nut.

Did it unscrew by hand or did you use a wrench? Two wrenches, one on the hose nut and the other on the barrel of the anti-siphon(?) should separate them.

use a 9/16 allen wrench into the smaller fine thread to secure it without destroying the V/B. If it has already happened see the parts sheet below.

Better yet, replace it with a # 19 Woodford with the "no-burst" warranty. I just looked at a Woodford and the male threads are part of the cast brass body and could'nt come apart. That may be a knock-off.

I just looked at the picture again. IF you can get the threaded piece out, you could teflon tape it and reinstall it. It will probably unscrew next time you remove the hose. If you are in the freeze zone, the best replacement would be a #19 Woodford. They have a "No-Burst" warranty and are rebuildable.
