 Bathroom sink drain piece replacement
Author: Soxfann1918 (RI)

I am in the process of installing a new popup drain assembly. This setup came with sink faucet.
The problem is I can't swing the p-trap out of the way to allow me remove old drain piece. There was no coupling joint at the back of the vanity and all the connections are glued. Do I need to replace the whole p-trap assembly?

that depends on how close the trap outlet 90 is to the fitting at the wall.
if you have a few inches of pipe you can just make a nice neat cut so you can do the work and put it back together with a shielded rubber coupling.
or you might be able to cut the riser coming into the trap and use a rubber coupling there.
shielded on the outlet is code but inlet side of the trap can be one of these.(or similar)
