Faucet Valve
Author: Ship50 (PA) I have three Koehler center set faucets. I have needed replacement valves, but for the life of me I cannot get the old values out. They seem frozen in place. Have tried many tools including vice grip and have used loosening oil. I am worried about damaging faucet. Any suggestions?

Author: packy (MA) yeah, you are dealing with a brass packing nut or retaining nut screwed into a brass valve body. should not be an impossible task.

Author: bruceb3 (MI) I'm an authorized Kohler service tech and there are times I can't get a cartridge out. I've had to remove the valve body from the nmsink and use 2 pipe wrenches to get them out. If you know the model number, Kohler will sell you the whole valve body with cartridge. They know it's an issue. If it's a 4" centerset, use a socket to get the cartridge out. Good luck!
