 Toilet Mounting Ring?
Author: jeffdmc1 (NC)

Little help please.
Have an odd set up. Flange top 3/16" above finished floor. There is a plastic beveled collar that is independent of flange, glued to 3" pvc pipe, which is glued to abs. I'm able to lift plastic collar 1/2" without any restriction from flange. Has a single wax ring, no horn. This set up is probably from 9+ years ago. Never has leaked. 6 months ago it was reinstalled after remodel and did not leak.
Maybe this is an early version waxless ring but they used wax in addition.
Any ideas? Thank you

Need pictures. The flange is supposed to be on top of the finished floor, so 3/16" sounds about right. It all has to be anchored to the floor so you don't break the seal. From your description, I cant tell if you maybe have a flange spacer or what. Pictures speak a thousand words.

the toilet ITSELF has a horn

unless it is some non-standard design
