Have any of you guys installed the replacement Valve inside this tank? Do you put any lube on the rubber gasket to make it easier to install when you insert and turn the valve into position? The one I am replacing has two of the plastic ears broken off so it looks like they had a problem when it was installed. TIA for any help.

perhaps, but it stinks and may not be readily available from the customer

any customer will be happy to give you a little dab of butter

? you didn't think i stocked it, did you ?

PLUS

butter (obviously) is safe to consume - harmless for any rubber - very easy to clean up

i am serious about using butter as a TEMPORARY lubricant for assembly of rubber / plastic parts - it WILL 'wash away' with use

You can also use some olive oil as a lubricant if not butter or grease.
