I had a job for a minor re-pipe. Customer wanted it done it copper.
Well of course the utility's curb stop would shut down only about 98% of the water flow
Whole house valve not installed. Yes, Nohub ProPress would have been nice.

So I remember srloren saying to disconnect the union at the water meter.
well that will solve that problem. Soldering 1/2" copper pipe is easy when the pipe is dry.

Srloren I appreciate you sharing that advice and also the other regular plumbers and DIY's who share their expertise and real experience. I have grown as a plumber last few years and no doubt this site has helped with that.

Have a good day out there...work safe.

I'll second that! I haven't had any plumbing projects lately, but I'm ever grateful to the folks here who have shared their knowledge and taken the time to explain the RIGHT way to do things. I've learned a lot, and more importantly I've learned how much I don't know!

I hope the first thing you did was to install a "whole house shutoff">

I never Propress before the meter and like HJ said...hope you threw in a new ball valve before the meter. I would also tell the city to replace that curb stop, around here they do it without The Plumber even having to ask. If it don't stop 100% the backhoe shows up with in a few days.

Cheers to all the pros for helping to steer me in the right direction. I learn something new every day even if I am not asking about my plumbing projects which I seem to have one every week LOL.

I am about ready to get going on another main drain project I started back in June, except after digging out the trench and cleared the roots my back gave out. I couldn't walk right for a few weeks, doctor prescribed rest...and I am now finally getting back to close to normal. The trench sat there all this time, and rain has washed the soil back into it, but somebody has to do it.
