commercial sink : disposal-to-drain replacement options?
Author: Inarow_Plantum (OH)

Hi everyone, new here and thanks for the add!

Found the site after researching (and coming up way short), on how to replace a disposal system with a normal drain on a commercial stainless steel sink...

I purchased a two bay stainless steel sink at an auction with a non-working older disposal. I successfully removed the disposal & now I am left with a hole at bottom that measures roughly 6.5 inches in diameter, and the diameter across the hole at the floor of the sink is 7.5 inches (about an inch total of lip/ledge)

I am finding nothing remotely to fit that hole size to anchor in & then funnel the water down into normal 2inch PVC solution under the sink I have built for the other bay (other bay is normal drain size & didn't need replaced).

This is for a utility sink in the basement, so a budget fix that gets me narrowed from this large hole size into a 2inch PVC underneath will do the trick perfectly for me.

Thank you for your time!

Can you post a picture ?

I think you are looking for something like Insinkerator adapter # 12904.

This adapter will get to 3-1/2" opening which a conventional kitchen sink basket strainer will fit and it has a 1-1/2" outlet. Can adapt to 2".

I don't this adapter is correct size that you are looking for, but it gives you a idea of what to look for. Going from a commercial size disposal sink opening to a residential sink opening.

Try restaurant supply websites.

note from Plbg staff:
We intentionally have blocks to some websites (usually created by us due to a company attempting to advertise here for free such as today we already had 4 companies we had to block as they advertised here without our permission) and so the link Curly originally had in his wonderful reply above was blocked automatically and so we just deleted the link to it.
