 Tub spout location in shower
Author: Brownie777 (TN)

I’m installing a Moen Chateau single lever shower/tub valve in a shower only stall, and would like to mount the tub spout lower than the recommended 6-11” below center of the valve, to use as a bucket filler. Will this cause a problem with the shower? Will it work properly to fill a bucket as well? Thanks in advance

Yes, it will work fine. You will need to install a diverter spout on it.

excellent question

if the diverter is on the valve body - no problem

if the diverter is on the spout:

depends on how much spout 'leakage' will occur because of the extra 'elevatation' of the valve body

try it BEFORE you tile/finish the wall

OR

install a 2 way valve

bottom outlet would be a 'bucket filler' at whatever height you like

@ bernabeu: that's a beautiful looking shower trim and simplistic in design.
I like how the valve and diverter are one setup.

who is that manufacturer of that? have you installed this?
