Hello Everyone- Any help would be appreciated. I currently have a gas furnace connected to a John Wood 80 gal storage tank. Its about 12 yrs old.Everything works fine. I recently had a gas pool heater installed. That works fine. My issue is that boiler won't start when the heater is running.I know a meter upgrade would solve my problem but I would need a permit from my town in order to get a new meter. I would like to avoid have a building inspector in my house . I thought a possible solution would be to replace the storage tank with a electric water heater. I would turn off the furnace in the summer and let the water heater do its job. When i close the pool I would turn off the power to the heater and turn on the boiler. Is this even possible ?
Thanks

Why not have it re-wired to give priority to the boiler?

if you just take out the john wood tank and put in an electric tank it will work fine. you need some way of wiring the circulator so it only runs when the boiler is hot. .
i looked at the john wood site and saw the piping diagram in figure 2.
