 Water Hammering?
Author: SotoFamily2020 (TX)

I have an older 2 story home. My 2nd floor bathroom sink, any time I turn on the cold water faucet I hear a loud rapid hammering. Similar to the sound of an air impact. It only happens with the cold water, not the hot side. Any ideas would could be the issue?

A loose/bad washer in the faucet or the angle stop.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have another question, if you don't mind. My 1st floor bath room sink, anytime I turn the cold water side, the pressure drops after 1 or 2 seconds. Nothing raddles, just pressure drops quickly. Any ideas? Or could these two issues be related?

a build up of some sort of corrosion. could be rust, could be debris, could be calcium.
something is restricting the flow.
could be in the faucet, could be in the shutoff below the sink or ?????
