What was the purpose of this pipe/tubing?
Author: sum (FL)

After I removed a bunch of 20X20 pavers I found a black color tubing under the pavers.

I dug further and found it goes on further down the side of the house. I can't find the end of it but did find where it connects to another piece using some strange clamp style connectors.

There is nothing inside except for some dirt. Wall is somewhat thin, quite flexible, and the OD is around 1-1/8".

Any idea what it is? Irrigation piping from the last century?

It is probably a water line. I suggest you dig around the outlet side of your meter to see if you find it there.

I am not sure it is a water line because the meter is all the way on the other side of the house, and this side does not have any water supply at all, not even a hose bib. Unless the water meter was moved around over the years.

Also the pipe is almost at grade, I would think a water line should be much deeper?

Not sure what the pipe material is, but it's not very thick or strong, it almost look like the stuff we buy to sleeve a pipe when buried in concrete.
