 peerless shower leak
Author: dung1979 (NC)

Hi, I have issue with my shower, it's been leaking and I order the cartridge valve for it but unfortunately it wasn't the right one. I have place the order for another one and it won't be here for 14 days. I just want to know if there is a way the cap the shower off so that way i can still use the water in the house. Right now I have to turn water off to the house. Any advice its greatly appreciate.

Depending on the type of shower head you have, a shut-off valve could be installed between the head and arm. Most of these valves don't completely shut off the water, but some do.

one potential problem with capping off a leaking shower is you create a cross-connection.
so the hot MAY (i emphasize) MAY cross over into the cold and you will get hot at some cold faucets.
but you won't know until you try.
