AA escutcheon - how to update?
Author: sen7inel (NJ)

Hello everyone, I'd like to update our bath but it's a bit unusual (at least to me). I've never seen a diverter like this. The escutcheon has an 'AA' logo, I searched around but came up with nothing.

Has anyone around here seen anything like this? What can I do to update it (preferably without replacing the shower valve). Any help would be appreciated.

That style divrtter is common to Danze, and its offshoot, valves.

Thanks for replying hj!

It looks like mystery is (somewhat) solved, removing the plate revealed a Speakman valve.

And a good thing I did, as the bottom shower diverter is dripping at the base of the stem when set to shower!

The problem is, I'm having a big time issue accessing it with a socket. The diverter is so close to the main shower valve, a standard deep well socket does not clear between them, can't slip the socket on all the way. A 3/4" almost makes it on but not all the way, I'm afraid it may strip plus I don't know if it actually is a 3/4. So I can't try to tighten to see if I can stop the drip, or loosen to replace whatever it may be.

Is there some special tool I need for this? Thanks for all your help everyone.
