I replaced the seat seal but it's still flushing on its own, not sure what the issue is?

put some food coloring into the tank to see if it shows up in the bowl

I did that and yes it does show up in the bowl

If the dye shows up in the bowl, its probably leaking past the flapper. The only other way it could get there is under the flush valve. That doesnt happen often.

If the small pipe going into the large center pipe is stuck too far down, it WILL cause that to happen, even with a new flapper.

change the flapper. it is a simple job BUT you must take the old one along to get the correct replacement.
take a picture of the way the chain it attached.
the new flapper comes with a chain but it is way too long.

checked the tub, it is fine, the water level in the tank keeps going down about 1/2 inch, I noticed when I flush the toilet the actuating unit does not stay open very long and sometimes it wants to skip it's way up, I adjusted the chain put the toilet is still running on it's own. help! thanks,
