 Unusual Shower Extension Pipe
Author: Robert Hall (MI)

This is somewhat confusing but will try my best to explain.
I have a hunting trailer in norther Michigan. Each winter I blow the water lines. Evidently not well enough this past time. Upon turning water on this spring I have a shower extension pipe that froze and cracked (the pipe you attache the shower head) -it should not be a big deal except I cannot find a replacement part and dont know how to fix the situation without it.

First the part that froze is a standard through the wall shower extension (4" on shower side / 1/34" inside wall side) except that it secures itself to the wall using a threaded decorative piece (shower Side) as the pipe goes through the wall opening and on the inside wall side by a washer and nut. Tightening both down secured the shower pipe extension to the wall. It is then connected to the flex water line servicing the shower. With the shower pipe extension secured to the the wall it works great.

Tried to use a shower extension pipe from Amazon that does not secure to the wall and the pipe just moves in and out cause its attached to the flex line. Hoping someone can explain how I can correct this flopping around and how to attach to the wall. Thx

After hours of searching Amazon and EBay and the internet in general for shower arms - the suggestion that lots of mobile homes have this was the key. Searched mobile home shower arms and bingo! Many thanks!!
