 Stem/valve identification
Author: elijah610 (KS)

I have moved into an old farm house and the shower needs some work. The stems are trashed. The splines are gone so identification is dang near impossible for me. I added a link for my images since I'm not savvy enough to figure out how to add them. If anyone can help that would be awesome. I realize I may have a much bigger job on my hands so let me know any thoughts.

you guessed it.
you have a bigger job ahead of you than anticipated.
that old galvanized piping looks to be in pretty bad shape.
what is below this tub?
i'm guessing you will have unscrew some old piping and cap the lines.
then from somewhere run some new pex to another valve.

simplest would be to replace the valve with the same size and type.
no cutting or changing the tub walls.

Remove one of the faucet stems and take it to someone who can identify it. Or post a picture of it here.
