Hello new to this forum
Redoing a bathroom in Florida and want to install a free standing tub filler in concrete floor
My question do I need to install shut off valve on the supply lines? Or can I just run the supply lines straight into the free standing tub filler. Needs to be done to code
Thank you

code may or may not require fixture stops for tub fillers but it is soooo nice to have them if needed.

code requires a thermostatic mixing valve.
the location of this is not as important as having it.

my code only requires scald protection if there is a shower attachment as well as a tub filler.
yes, a hand held hose is considered a shower. (by my code).

Already has faucet, no shutoff in valve
I do however have shut off I. 2nd water heater feeding bathroom on the hot side
The cold side is feed from the the first water that is 60 feet away and I will install a shutoff there
With only supply master bathroom and a guess bath
All other plumbing are running in a different direction on different lines

Unless local jurisdiction states otherwise, they're not required for tubs and showers, according to the 2017 Florida Plumbing Code.

Many of the supply lines come with shut off valves on the risers
