Can anyone tell me if there are any cons to Propress fittings? If so what are they? If there are pluses tell me why. It sure looks like its a lot faster and a lot easier. My main concern is the longevity of the rubber o-ring that seals the joint. Thanks in advance.

Bullman, you should rephase your question and ask People that actually own the tools. The O-Rings have been used for over 31 years with no problems and the tools are great.Every new hi-rise building built in the last 10 years has propress fittings in it.Now I must brace myself for the onslaught from the o-ring mafia that hate this Product.

there has always been resistance to any major changes in plumbing. this is just natural.

changing from lead and oakum to using rubber couplings.
changing from copper drains to plastic drains
changing from copper water pipes to pex.
changing from the great flushing older toilets to water savers.

my objection is that in the twilight of my career I do not want to invest thousands of dollars in new tools etc.
