Moen single handle kitchen pullout set screw
Author: raddad47 (MA) I have a 13 year old Moen, single (top) handle, pullout, kitchen faucet. I need to replace # 1225 cartridge and can't get handle off. Using a brand new 7/64 allen wrench but it spins in screw head like the screw socket has been stripped by previous owner. Other sizes either too large or also spin. Should I try to drill out the set screw? Other suggestions? Thanks! Mike

Author: packy (MA) have you tried a metric allen wrench ? drilling it out may be the only option.

Author: raddad47 (MA) Yes, metrics aren't the answer.... some too small, next size up too big. Moen definitely says it is a 7/64.

Author: steve (CA) What condition is the tip of your 7/64 wrench? If it shows any wear/roundover, grind the tip down to get rid the worn section.
