Hi everyone,

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am installing a water softener, and while the house is already plumbed for a softener, the two outlets for the softener hoses end with what I believe are PEX (hard blue pipe) that are capped with Accucrimp plugs. Any tips on how I should remove the plugs? Also, I was planning on using Sharkbite connectors - is there any issue with those and the blue PEX?

Author: packy (MA) you just cut the pex close to the end and slide the sharkbite fitting onto the blue pex. there should be little inserts for the sharkbite fittings so look online for a video to make sure you are following manufacturers installation directions.
