2 gas valves same line

The shutoff for my kitchen stove was in my bsdement directly under the stove (quarter turn). The flex adapter attached directly to pipe behind stove.

I bought new stove and when i install i put a second valve directly behind stove to be able to attach flex as intended.... and to comply with code. So there are two valves now approx two feet from each other.

Was that a poor idea? Have i made mistake by restricting the line or something?

Author: packy (MA) you did the right thing. gas code says the gas valve SHALL be in the same room as the appliance. just clearly mark the valve down below as kitchen stove. do not worry about too much restriction.
