Unable to find set screw for shower faucet
Author: Bchap (VA)

I have turned the water off, rotated the handle looking for a set screw or buttons to remove handle so I can replace cartridge as the hot water is not working only on this faucet.

Can you pry off the cap at the very front of the handle (like, the screw goes straight down into the shaft from the front)

Also, you are aware you probably need to turn off water from whole house when you replace this, right?

You might have to hold the handle and unscrew the trim bell. The handle would come come off with the bell.

Will give this a try in two weeks when I return to the house. Thanks to everyone on their responses. And yes, I know to turn off the water, but thanks for the reminder. Any thoughts on the manufacturer? Delta?

My guess is that it is a Moentrol valve with Kingsley trim. Trim only #T3111.

Most likey balancing spool is stuck,#1423. Can be a challenge to remove cap - requires large flat blade screwdriver - one that has not been used as a chisel.

Might be able to get unstuck. I would replace spool.

Contact Moen for guidance and parts under their lifetime warranty.

Button pops off end of handle.

Hi Sum,

Your link is to the Posi-Temp valve. I think his is the Moentrol valve.

His handle has the additional short piece on the top and the stop tube appears to be the smaller style.

Moentrol uses different repair parts.

Small details that are hard to notice.

Where's Waldo?
