 Water flow meter
Author: RR60 (VA)

Where do I find one and any trusted brands. Amazon seems to have some off brand ones. Not big on off brand or cheap stuff for plumbing. Considering the damage a leak may cause.

My purpose is I have a well. Pex with brass fitting that look fine. About 15 years old. I inspect the crawl space at least once a year.

But have a few fittings in the walls for fixtures.

With some type of meter I figure I could even spot a small leak. Take a reading and wait a few hours with no water use and check again.

Thanks for suggestions or advice

Also most water meters I have seen are listed as 5/8x3/4. Seems like that would retrict flow. Need 3/4 in and out.

Use a pressure gauge. Close a valve, if the pressure drops off, you have a leak.

Thanks. Did not think of something more simple.
So turn off water at main valve. And just use a gauge that screws onto outdoor hose bibs.

One more question.

Is there such a thing as stainless supply valves for toilet and sinks. Have not had luck finding any.
Guessing with the poloy fittings would make everything safe against well water.
