Need Help to ID Shower Valve w/Unique Diverter
Author: 120volts (CA)

I need help in identifying the shower valve make and model. Customer is complaining of water leaking from the showerhead when the shower valves are turned off. So it sounds like the valves need replacing.

He’s also complaining about water coming from the showerhead as well as the hose coming from the unique tub diverter at the lower part of the hose when the water is on. I haven’t seen a diverter like this, but I’m not that experienced as you guys!

Look like Price-Pfister Crown Jewel handles, but cannot tell how the bottom of the hose is attached to the spout.

I second HJ on it being Price-Pfister with some type of add a spout like the ones our sponsor sells....

Originally it was just a 2 handle tub valve and then somebody converted to a tub/shower with add a spout, tiled the walls etc...

It's a Price Pfister Crown Imperial, not Crown Jewel.

Awesome!

I got a pair of Price Pfister 910-013 valve stems and hit the jobsite. But the handles were so frozen solid and the the handle slightly broke off as I tried to remove it, failing at both. Way too much calcium deposit.

However, the customer had galvanized piping throughout the house and all the piping was rusting pretty badly. So I immediately told him to re-pipe the whole house to copper as it's just a matter of time before something breaks. The toilet valves were rusted from the wall all the way to the shutoff valve, as an example. One tap and it would have busted!

Besides, he should get a new shower valve body and trim and do the diviter inside the walls in the traditional sense. Some plumber got lazy or home owner got cheap after new tiling (7 years ago) and took a shortcut it seems.

Thanks for all the help on identifying the shower valve, though. I really appreciated it!
