I had leaks on the hotside of two identical faucets from the handle only when I run the water. I changed the cartridges and the spring and seats since I got a package with everything in it and it fixed the problem.
What exactly would have caused this type of leaking from the handle? The o-ring?

Yes, but it was the internal "O" ring.

Ah! I didn't know they had an internal o-ring. Good to know.

if you hold the piece with the tabs on the sides and push downward on the brass stem, they will separate and you will see the "internal" O ring.

Makes no difference. They do not sell "parts" for the stem. Just replace the whole thing along with the seats and springs.

Thanks, @packy and @hj! Yes, I replaced the cartridges already but still have the old ones and will pull it apart just for fun.
