Hey fellas. I have a two story with a crawl space below. The toilet and tub connect to a double wye below the floor. The vent, or is it called stack, goes straight up out of that double wye thru the roof and the waste drops out of the double wye, turns and out to the street. It's all 4" cast iron in good shape. I wanna put a toilet and sink (you probably know where I'm goin with this) upstairs just above the downstairs bath. I'm thinkin pedestal sink and 3" rear discharge toilet. What would be the problems with putting in a double wye and dumpin those right into that vent?
Thanks for your advice

what would be the problem ?
the bathroom downstairs would no be vented at all.
you either can use that vent stack for upstairs, in which case you would have to run a new vent for down below fixtures.
or you can tie the upstairs drain into the pipe going out to the street downstream of the double "Y". then the upstairs bath needs to be vented
