Grey pvc

I was at the store checking out shower drains earlier today and I noticed that the oatey solvent weld pvc model was a grey plastic instead of the usual white. Can this be glued directly to the white pvc pipe with the regular purple primer and clear cement, or would this require a special glue like the abs pipe?

Is the grey pvc better quality or something compared to the white?

Author: sum (FL) Are you sure those are for drains or irrigation? My understanding is gray is SCH80 usually electrical applications and not pressure rated, white is SCH40.
