 Basement bathroom
Author: Stango (Canada)

Hi, looking for some advice on basement plumbing. I have some knowledge of plumbing but am a carpenter so I'm not sure exactly how to tie in a new tub in an old basement. My initial thoughts are bust open the concrete and tie into the main drain, which in my case is the opposite end of the basement. I do have an assisting toilet and 2 1/2" pic pipe from kitchen sink connecting to a clean out. Also had a thought of using a pump to move the water and not breaking concrete at all. But either way I'm hoping I could tie into the 2 1/2" beside toilet without going all the way across the floor. I'm switching from galvanized to pex for all my 1/2" so that portion is under control .
* not sure how to add images, is there a host site for links? Sorry not very competent with image hosting but will get it figured out
Thanks in advance for any advice, Justin

if you don't want to bust up the cement floor then use a "liberty lowpro" ejector system.
you will have to build the bathroom floor up on 2 x 6's but that should be no problem for you.
I put one in for my son about 15 years ago and it has worked flawlessly.

you will need to run a 2 inch vent for this unit. no studor vent..
