New to the site and to using blogs. I've got a bathroom sink that I cannot figure out how to take out. I know the fixture is held in by the rectangular piece of metal between the hot and cold lines. Hope others can view these photos.

Looks like it is a Moen brand,Monticello series, mini widespread, valve body part number is 9300.

Remove the trim rings on hot and cold side below handles and then the fun part is stick a allen wrench (don't know size) down thru the pop-up rod hole on the back of the spout and loose the body from the spout. Spout comes off and then the body falls away.

This all based on the fact that it will loose up. If not just cut it off with a dremel type tool etc.

Guess I was wrong about the faucet being cheap, as Moen makes a very good product. I found the installation instructions and will try to reverse the installation procedure early next week. Any idea if a regular allen wrench works or does it have to have a ball on the end? Any other tips or advise on taking it out? The illustrated parts page shows a clip that I do not see in my photos abut I'll look at the actual faucet next week when I'm home.

The faucet came out very easily once I found and downloaded the installation instructions, following them in reverse. Unfortunately it took a little to find the instructions because Moen doesn't keep them on their web site; I had to go to a third-party web site. Thanks!
