I have a 32 year old Roman tub filler with 2 handles and a spout. It will let the water out on the cold side but only lets out a trickle on the hot side. the brand name is unknown. I took the hot side parts out except for the last/bottom part. I cannot figure out how to remove it without breaking it. I tried unscrewing it for about 10 turns but it didn't seem to go anywhere.
the parts that i removed was the handle, the long plastic nut, the long plastic stem which connects to the handle, and the plastic part under the long stem that rotates the bottom on/off part.
unfortunately the installer never installed an access panel for full removal.
My question is; how do I remove that bottom part?

Without knowing the manufacturer or having a photo there is no way to answer the question.

as hj said, a picture would be helpful.
in the meanwhile try this.
turn off the hot water at the water heater. turn the cold back on. open the handle on the cold side and with a cloth block the spout. see if any water gets forced back up the open hot side.
there could be an obstruction between the hot valve and the tee at the bottom of the spout.
